Selena Gomez has a worldwide fame as an actress as well as a performer. Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the biggest projects in which she participated and which has had the highest popularity, is her work. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. She was born on 22nd July, 1992 located in Grand Prairie Texas. The parents of Selena include Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. Her mother was only sixteen at the time Selena arrived. Her first professional showbiz job at age 9 in the role of Gianna on Barney and her Friends. Thus she became one of the children that performed with the most well-known human-like purple dinosaur ever created. Selena was a part of the cast for a number of seasons, including seasons 7 and 8, from 2001 to 2003. Selena Gomez wasn't the only performer to be featured in Barney and His Friends from 2001 to the year 2003. Demi Lorvato joined the cast too. Selena Gomez left the show and was auditioned for a variety of different films and shows however, she did not achieve the most success. Following the end of the show, Selena was able to audition for a variety of roles in different programs and films but was not very successful. She also was given the role of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a song.
