Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian as well as an American musician and singer. She has produced many studio records. The music of DiFranco is classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father is of Italian heritage. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors.
